World 4 is the fourth world of the game Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3. It consists of ten levels, and it has six regular levels, a fort, a castle, and the Match Cards Bonus Challenge. Its Extra Stage is Extra 4: The Impossible? Maze, and its Secret Stage is Secret 4: Fight Toadies w/ Toadies. The world's theme is an arid, mountainous area with sand, sand dunes, and scattered trees visible.

The following is a list of each level in World 4. The Yoshi playable in a level is denoted by color and the British English name is denoted by a small, parenthesized title.

GO! GO! MARIO!! GO! GO! MARIO!! World 4-1: GO! GO! MARIO!! (Go! Go! Mario!!) Green Yoshi This level takes place in some hills, with large mountains in the background. The level features Goombas, in their only appearance in the game. It is the second level to feature Fuzzies, and it also features Flying Wigglers. At the end of the level, Baby Mario must take a Super Star to pass through some paths until the level exit.
The Cave of the Lakitus.PNG The Cave Of The Lakitus World 4-2: The Cave Of The Lakitus Pink Yoshi Enemies found in the level include Shy-Guys, Wild Piranhas, Koopa Troopas, Tap-Taps, Wall Lakitus, Fly Guys, Fangs, Lantern Ghosts, and Baron von Zeppelins. Its name comes from the Wall Lakitus that lurk in the caverns.
Don't Look Back SMW2 screenshot.png Don't Look Back! World 4-3: Don't Look Back! Light Blue Yoshi The player has to deal with many Countdown Platforms in this stage, which disappear if Yoshi jumps off one of them when the number on each reaches zero.

Yoshi pushing a Chomp Rock in the level Chomp Rock Zone. Chomp Rock Zone World 4-5: Chomp Rock Zone Purple Yoshi As the name implies, in this level, the player has to deal with Chomp Rocks, scattered through the stage.
Lake Shore Paradise.png Lake Shore Paradise World 4-6: Lake Shore Paradise Brown Yoshi This level is located in a lake, where various Flopsy Fish jump out of the water to try and attack Yoshi. Here, there are enemies such as Koopa Troopas, Para-Koopas and Shy-Guys.
Ride Like the Wind.PNG Ride Like The Wind World 4-7: Ride Like The Wind Red Yoshi The name of this level is a reference to a song of the same name by Christopher Cross.
HookbilltheKoopa'sCastle SMW2.png Hookbill The Koopa's Castle World 4-8: Hookbill The Koopa's Castle Blue Yoshi This level's boss is Hookbill the Koopa.
FightToadieswToadies.png Fight Toadies w/ Toadies Secret 4: Fight Toadies w/ Toadies (Fight Baddies w/ Baddies) Green Yoshi This is the fourth of the Secret Stages, which are exclusive to Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3. Its name is a reference to the idiom "fight fire with fire."
The Impossible Maze.png The Impossible? Maze Extra 4: The Impossible? Maze Green Yoshi This is the fourth Extra Stage in the game. It appears to be a dim maze-like underground sewer that would most likely seem endless, unless Yoshi notices where he can roll to the crates to reach higher areas where a door is. He can push the crates through the water to also find other items, such as red coins and Special Flowers. The main enemies found in this level are Wild Piranhas and the Grim Leechers that come out of pipes.
Match Cards in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. Match Cards Bonus 4: Match Cards Players need to memorize pairs of panels and flip over the correct pairing to receive Special Items or lives.

Player's Guide description: Red sky at morning, Yoshies take warning! Things got a lot hotter for the plucky babysitter as he explores the lurid landscape of World 4. When Yoshi meets a friendly face, it belongs to Marching Milde, who would love to stomp him into the ground! Koopas and Para-Koopas patrol the terrain, but they're just a warmup for the final showstopper. To get out of this world, Yoshi will have to defeat Hookbill, the biggest and baddest Koopa of them all![1]
