They make a comeback in ''[[Mario Tennis Aces]]'' as Bosses to defeat in a Co-op monthly online challenge named Shy Guy Train Tussle. In this game, there is 8 stages. A first boss appear in stage #4, it's a Black Mega Pirate Guy wearing a Yellow Bandana, while there is a second and final boss that appear in stage #8, it's a Black Mega Pirate Guy wearing a Red Bandana. During the fight, there is four phase to defeat the bosses, while the players have 30 seconds to shut down their life. During the first and third phases, the 4 players have to hit him with balls projected from the cannon they are facing. The cannons are placed behind and above the Black Mega Shy Guys. Balls are projected to the 4 players simultaneously 4 time, before the next phase begin. During the second phase, the 4 players have to hit back Bob-Ombs that are throw by bosses. Bob-Ombs are throw, only 1 time, one by one to each players in the other they are placed, from the left to the right, before the third phase begin. The fourth and last phase is the same than the second phase for Black Mega Pirate Guy wearing the Yellow Bandana from stage 4, while this phase is different for the Black Mega Pirate Guy wearing the Yellow Bandana from stage 8. Beat a Black Mega Pirate Guy give to the team a Gold Key that can open a Big Gold Treasure that give to the team +200 points. While players cannot loose by being hit, it's possible to loose if the life (represented by the purple jauge) of the bosses is not empty, before the limited time of 30 seconds. Hit a boss with a tennis balls give +5 points to the player and hit a boss with a Bob-Omb give +15 points the the player. All the points individual players gain are all put in the team score.
In some other regular stage that aren't the stage 4 and the stage 8, there is also Black Pirate Guy that are wearing a purple bandana while they are moving attached by a single red balloon floating from one side on the other side of the stage. They are carrying boxes containing more coins.

Yoshi's Story

Their first appearance was in Yoshi's Story, and they only appear in Stage 5-4: Shy Guy's Ship. They have Bob-omb cannons, Bill Blasters, and other utilities for bombardment.

Yoshi's Island DS

Pirate Guys in Yoshi's Island DS

Pirate Guys reappear in Yoshi's Island DS, along with Pirate Guys who stack themselves on top of each other. They are like normal Shy Guys, except they are all white with purple shoes, wear differently colored bandanas and appear in beach-themed stages. They can be found in the level The Goonie Coast Isn't Clear!.

Yoshi's Crafted World

Pirate Guys return in Yoshi's Crafted World, mostly act like normal Shy Guys like in Yoshi's Island DS. They appear in the levels Pirate Pier and Bombs Away on Pirate Island. In the latter, they are also seen standing on cardboard galleons that follow Yoshi's own ship on different planes in the background. These Pirate Guys attend cannons that shoot projectiles at Yoshi. Yoshi can attack back by sending cannonballs to the Pirate Guys' ships, sinking them along with the Pirate Guys. Some of them also carry Heyho Coin Bags.

Pirate Guys also appear in Mario Kart: Super Circuit and Mario Kart Wii in the Shy Guy Beach course, where they navigate the galleon from where explosive cannonballs are sent onto the course.
